Report from Kaiser Family Foundation Commission on Medicaid

A new report from the Kaiser Family Foundation’s Commission on Medicaid and the uninsured summarizes the main trends to emerge from the latest expenditures and participant data for the three main Medicaid home and community-based service (HCBS) programs. In 2006, overall spending on Medicaid HCBS increased eight percent over the previous year, to $38 billion, and the programs served 2.9 million people. Demand for these services continues to increase, more than 390,000 individuals on waiting lists for HCBS waiver programs in 2008.
