Skilled nursing facilities received notices from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services about a reduction in their Medicare Part B therapy fees. These fees are based on the physician fee schedule, which is scheduled to fall by 21 percent as of Jan. 1, 2010, under current law. A two-month delay of the physician payment cut was added to a defense spending bill that will be enacted in time to prevent the cut.
